Tourism Research Manager

Nate Gieryn is the Tourism Research Manager for the Texas Office of the Governor, Economic Development and Tourism division and has been serving as part of that agency since 2005. Nate directs the Texas Tourism research program, which reports the latest Texas travel trends, travel industry statistics, and performance measures for the division’s advertising and marketing campaigns. In this role, he also assists convention and visitor bureaus, destination marketing organizations, state and local government offices, hotels, attractions, airports, and other travel industry partners with tourism research, development, and planning projects. Nate was elected to two terms on the Travel and Tourism Research Association’s board of directors and is a former president of the Texas Chapter. He was recognized in 2013 with a Mark of Distinction Award from the Texas Travel Industry Association. He holds an M.S. in Community and Regional Planning from the University of Texas at Austin and a B.A. in Geography with Honors from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
